For its last friendly match before the final phase of the qualifying for the World Cup Australia / New Zealand 2023 and the Olympic Games in Paris 2024, the Haitian women’s soccer team ended its training camp in Costa Rica on a note of satisfaction by beating the local team (4-2) at the Complex FCRF PLYCEM this Tuesday, behind closed doors. The grenadiers thus take their revenge in this double confrontation after the victory last Saturday of Ticas (2-1)

In the perspective of the last qualifying round for the finals of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia / New Zealand 2023 and the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024, Haiti has taken easily over Costa Rica (4-2) this Tuesday for its last test of evaluation. For this duel, the French technician Nicolas Delépine lined up the same eleven that had lost against the Ticas, in the first game last Saturday with a score of two goals to one at the Alejandro Morera Soto Stadium.

On the facilities of the Complex FCRF PLYCEM, behind closed doors, the Haitian girls responded in the best way in the second game against their Costa Rican counterparts (4-2) with a completely successful performance. To start, Roselord Borgella needed only 7 minutes to show the way to her teammates (0-1), then a goal of Montpellier’s Nérilia Mondésir at the 38th to take the lead (0-2). This was the end of the first half.

The Grenadiers will triple the stake of very early through Melchie Daëlle Dumornay (47′,3-0) before the local players reduce the score twice in four minutes by Hilary Corrales (59′,1-3) and Carolina Venegas (63′,2-3) to put the pressure on Haiti. But a few minutes later, in the 69th minute, Melchie Daëlle Dumornay added to the score, scoring her personal double, killing any hope of a possible Costa Rican equalization in the match (69′, 2-4). Thus, until the final whistle the score remained unchanged.

The grenadiers have filled with confidence before flying to Monterrey (Mexico) to face, in group A, the United States, Mexico and Jamaica respectively on July 4, 7 and 11.
