GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Atlantic Coast Conference swimmers and divers totaled 165 CSCAA All-America honors for the 2021-22 season following their performances at the NCAA Championships. ACC women piled up 102 All-America honors, and ACC men compiled 63 All-America performances.
Virginia head coach Todd DeSorbo was named CSCAA Women’s Division I Coach of the Year for the second consecutive year after leading UVa to its second straight NCAA Championship. The Cavaliers’ Kate Douglass was named CSCAA Division I Women’s Swimmer of the Year followed a record-breaking performance at the NCAA Championships, where she won three individual races and broke American records in each.
The awards were determined by a nationwide vote of CSCAA-member Division I head swimming coaches and head diving coaches. One additional vote was determined by the public via online polling.
On the women’s side, eight ACC schools had individuals and/or relays earn All-America status at the NCAA Championships, with the ACC totaling 102 All-America honors (53 first team, 49 second team). Virginia led all schools nationally with 33 All-America honorees (25 first team, eight second team).
On the men’s side, eight ACC schools had individuals and/or relays pick up All-Americans through their performances at the NCAA Championships. The ACC racked up 63 total All-America honors (35 first team, 28 second team). NC State led all ACC schools with 18 All-America honorees (12 first team, six second team).
First-team honors were awarded to individuals and relays that finished first through eighth at the NCAA Championships. Second-team honors went to individuals and relays that placed ninth through 16th at NCAAs.
