This Wednesday, April 13, there was no miracle for the Cholchoneros at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium in Madrid, who thought they could turn the tables.

In the first act, the citizens, well motivated, put their feet on the ball as usual, but could not find the breakthrough. Each time, they had to deal with a well set up Madrid defense.
In the second half, Simeone’s men were pushing on counters but were blocked by an equally solid English defense. In the last quarter of an hour, the match seemed to be unbridled with unbearable fouls, until the expulsion of the Brazilian central defender of Athletico Felipe Monteiro, following a second warning, which would cause scuffles in a rather tense end of the game.

And even with ten against eleven, Simeone’s men were pushing with deadly counterattacks like (Yannick Carrasco Ferreira, Angel Correa, Luis Suarez, Rodrigo de Paul and Matheus Cunha) to try to make the difference with notably the last attempts of the Argentine striker Angel Correra pushed back by Ederson Moraes, the Brazilian goalkeeper, in the final seconds. The Madrid team pushed hard to find the breakthrough, but the score did not move and the adventure ends here for the cholchoneros who must still wait for the next season.

The citizens, on the other hand, are going to face their second semi-final confrontation with Real Madrid and their seventh Champions League meeting with a perfect record (2 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats).

According to the Spanish media “Cadena Ser”, it turned sour again between some players in the tunnel of the Wanda Metropolitano stadium. And the police had to intervene to bring order.
