On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, the Mersey team dominated the Spanish team of Villareal two goals to nil at Anfield Road Stadium for the first leg of the Champions League semi-final. The liverpuldians, dominant during all the game, had to wait the second half to open the score in the 53rd minute, after a well worked cross of the captain Jordan Anderson, deviated in the passage by the Ecuadorian defender Pervis Estupinan, who deceived his keeper Geronimo Rulli. Three minutes later, Senegal’s Sadio Mané added to the score. With this two-goal lead, the English team has taken a great option for the final on May 28, 2022 at the Stade de France in Paris.

On Tuesday, April 26, Manchester City, in a spectacular match full of twists and turns, beat Real Madrid (4-3) and thus took the lead against Carlo Ancelotti’s men.

In one week, we will know who of these four teams will play the final. Considering the results of the first leg, a 100/100 English final is on the horizon as it was the case last year between Manchester City and Chelsea.
