In the Eastern Conference, the Columbus Crew were defeated by New York City FC on the road at Yankee Stadium, 0-2, in the eleventh round of Major League Soccer (MLS).

The Columbus Crew and Derrick Etienne Jr. had a tough night on the road at Yankee Stadium against New York City FC in the eleventh round of the MLS. Betrayed by the opening goal of Talles Magno (9′), the Columbus Crew did not see the day by conceding the goal of the break by the Argentine Valentín Mariano Castellanos Gimenez before the hour of play (57′). A defeat that takes the yellow and black club away from the Top 7.

After this setback, the Columbus Crew total 13 points ex-aequo with DC United (8th) and Charlotte (9th). New England Revolution, 11 points, could overtake them if they win this Sunday against Atlanta United . With 81 minutes played, Derrick Etienne Junior did not play a good game as in his last two games in yellow and black.

On the next day of MLS, the Columbus Crew will host Los Angeles FC on Saturday, May 21 at 7pm.
