In the opening of the 12th day of the Danish first division soccer championship, GIF Sundsvall hosted FF Malmö on Friday, July 1st and won with a hard-fought 2-1 victory, with another goal from Ronaldo Damus.
Less than a week after their heavy defeat (2-5) against Djurgården IF at home, GIF Sundsvall took advantage of the reception of Malmö this Friday in advanced match of the twelfth day to put an end to a series of three consecutive defeats in the championship. Joel Cedergren’s men conceded the first goal of the game through Sergio Peña Flores (7′, 0-1) before reacting in a great way thanks to a new goal from Ronaldo Damus (14′, 1-1) and the winning goal in the 34th minute from Daniel Stensson (2-1). Score of the first half.
Solidly dominating, FF Malmö missed several clear chances in the second half and paid dearly for it. The locals resisted well and kept the score until the end of the game. A victory acquired in pain since FF Malmö dominated the match with more than 70% of possession.
Thanks to this victory, the 3rd in 12 games, GIF Sundsvall is now in 14th place while waiting for the other games of the day. For the 13th day, the partners of Ronaldo Damus will meet the formation of IFK Värnamo on Monday, July 11th at 1h Pm.
