The Haitian women’s 3×3 basketball team lost this Saturday its quarterfinal match of the Caribbean Games in Guadeloupe against its Dominican neighbor with a score of 20-9, at the Celigny Complex. With three defeats in as many games, the Haitian basketball players leave the competition with their heads down.
After two defeats in the group phase respectively against Trinidad and Tobago (7-10) and against the host country, Guadeloupe, (7-15), the girls coached by Garry Danastor left by the small door the Caribbean Games of Guadeloupe by being eliminated in the quarterfinals by their Dominican neighbor by the score of 20 points to 9. This was the only game in the tournament where Haiti went over 7 points and conceded 20 points. Haiti suffered during the game without ever catching up with the opponent. A defeat that weighs very heavy and costs the elimination of Haiti.
With half-tone performances, the Haitian women’s 3×3 basketball team leaves the tournament with a negative record of three losses in three games. In the overall ranking of the competition it is likely that Haiti would finish in last place.
