For its last game in Group A of the Caribbean Club Championship, Violette, which celebrated its 104th anniversary, gave itself a nice gift by beating 3-2 Cavalier SC, at the Cibao Stadium in Santiago.

After a heavy defeat (3-0) last Friday against the Cibao FC, the Violette AC, for its 104 years of existence, thus found the way of the victory by winning this Sunday against its Jamaican counterpart, the SC Cavalier, on the score of three goals to two. A success that allows the Old Tiger to move provisionally to the second place.

Trailing from the start of the game on a goal by Ronaldo Webster scored in the third minute, the Old Tiger came out all claws to equalize with Elyvens Déjean, who took advantage of a ball poorly negotiated by a Jamaican defender to beat the keeper (25′, 1-1), before Kerlins Georges gave the advantage to the CAV on a sumptuous shot in stoppage time of the first part of the game (45+6 ,1-1). Score at the break.

In the second half, the old tiger, on a bad placement of the defense, conceded the equalization by the same Ronaldo Webster on a diving header in the 63rd minute. A few minutes later, Elyvens Déjean took a pass in the back of the defense and scored twice in the 71st minute to seal the victory for his team.

With three points and a difference – 1, the Violette awaits a victory or a draw of Cibao FC against its opponent next Tuesday to hope for a qualification for the semi-finals.
