Following the revelations made by the officials of the Chilean Football Federation, the Ecuadorian national soccer team, having finished 4th in the qualifying round of the South American zone with 26 pts, could be disqualified from the finals of the World Cup Qatar 2022. This is related to complaints filed by the Chilean Football Federation against the Ecuadorian right-back, Byron David Castillo Segura, who according to it, has falsified his documents (passport, birth certificate) by abrasion to wear the tunic of the national soccer team.
According to the officials of the Chilean Football Federation, Byron Castillo would be born in 1995 in Colombia, in the city of Tamuco, and not in 1998 indicated in his “false passport” and his “false birth certificate” that they presented as evidence to Fifa, the parent body.
A disciplinary procedure is underway. If it is proved that the day has indeed defrauded, Ecuador would be automatically disqualified and replaced by Chile, plaintiff, finished in 6th place in the ranking of the South American zone. Case to follow!
