The 2021-2022 season of UEFA (Union Europenne de Football Association) ends in ten days with the final of the Ldc, which takes place on May 28.

In the meantime, Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at the Sanchez Pizjuan stadium in Seville, Spain, the first European competition (Europa League) ended with the coronation of the German team Eintracht Frankfurt on penalties (5-4) after the draw (1-1) until the extra time, against the Scottish Glasgow Rangers.

In a stadium full to overflowing under a strong heat, the team of the coach Oliver Glasner won the 57th edition of the Europa League at the expense of the Scottish Rangers, their second in the history of this competition after the one of 1980 in a final 100/100 German won (1-0) against Borussia Moenchengladbach.

For this third final of their history in the Europa League, the German Eagles conceded a goal in the first quarter of the second act, at the 57th. Seven minutes later, the young Colombian striker of 26 years, Rafael Santos Borre Maury, equalized for the green and white. The score remained unchanged even after extra time, thanks to an imperious Kevin Trapp, who came out to repel all the attempts of the Scottish strikers, especially one from Ryan Kent in the 118th. Again in the penalty shootout, Kevin Trapp stopped Araon Ramsey’s shot and allowed his team to win the shootout 5 to 4. He logically finished MVP of the final of the 57th edition of the Europa League.

Eintracht Frankfurt becomes the third club to have won this competition without a single defeat (7 wins and 6 draws), after Chelsea in 2018-2019, Villareal in 2020-2021. It also becomes the first German club since 1997 to have lifted a Europa League. Eintracht Frankfurt dethroned Villareal on the podium but remains three units behind Fc Sevilla, which has 6 titles to its credit.

The only note of satisfaction of the Scottish team in the competition was the title of best goal scorer of its right-back James Henry Tavernier with 7 goals including 4 penalties.
