Facing the penultimate of the Armenian first division soccer championship, FC Urartu had a hard time this Wednesday to win by the smallest of margins (1-0) in their 27th game this season.
After their draw against Alashkert (1-1) on Tuesday, May 3, the club coached by Arsen Petrossyan got back on track as they only found the breakthrough ten minutes before the final whistle against BKMA on Wednesday in their 27th match in the Armenian first division soccer league. And it was Karen Melkonyan who delivered his team by scoring the only goal of the game in the 80th minute. It is on this mark that the partners of the Haitian player Jonel Désiré got the better of their opponent.
Jonel Désiré entered the game in the 68th minute, but he was mute during his time on the field and even received a yellow card in the 92nd minute.
After this short victory, FC Urartu remains stuck in 6th place in the standings with 34 points, while its opponent of the day is second to last with 15 points. For their next game, FC Urartu will play away against the leader Pyunik FC on Sunday, May 15, while BKMA will visit the team of Alashkert on Monday.
