The Columbus Crew defeated the Chicago Fire 3-2 in a wild and dramatic match at Soldier Field Stadium in Chicago on Saturday, July 9, 2022, in Major League Soccer’s 20th round of matches.

The hosts started so well, ending the first half with two goals to nil thanks to goals from Rafael Czichos (29′, 1-0) and Christopher Matthew Mueller (41′, 2-0), who assisted on the front goal. Chicago Fire FC could not hold on to their lead, falling behind in the second half to an aggressive and determined Columbus Crew. The visitors made a great comeback thanks to a Derrick Etienne Jr of great night, the Haitian striker, entered at the beginning of the second period (46′) illustrated himself by scoring twice to allow his team to equalize (63′,75, (2-2). But at the very end of the match, Juan Camilo Hernández Suárez aka Cucho gave the victory to Caleb Porter’s men (2-3).

With this victory, the Columbus Crew has now gone six consecutive games without defeat and is now in 8th place in the Western Conference standings with 25 points. In the next game, the yellow and black club will travel to Washington to face DC United on Wednesday, July 13th at 8am Pm.
