In their fifth game in the Canadian Premier League, Edmonton FC fell to HFX Wanderes FC (1-3) on Saturday, April 30 at the Wanderes Ground.

Thirsty for a league win in their fifth outing on Saturday, Edmonton FC managed to score first in their clash with HFX Wanderes FC thanks to a Julian Ulbricht penalty goal in the ninth minute. It only took eight minutes for Grenadian Bicou Bissainthe’s teammates to see that their night was not going to go as planned, as Cory Bent quickly brought the two teams level after a poor clearance by the opposition defense. The two teams return to the locker room on this parity score ( 1-1 ).

In the second half, pushed by their public, the locals quickly took the lead in the game thanks to two new goals scored respectively by Samuel Salter (2-1, 61′) and Akeem Garcia ten minutes later on penalty (3-1, 71′). Bicou Bissainthe, who entered the game in the 76th minute, unfortunately failed to wake up his teammates.

With this defeat, FC Edmonton remains with its 3 small points, provisionally 7th on 8 teams. FC Cavlry, 8th with one point plays this Sunday against FC Pacific.
