4 days after its draw (1-1) against Toros Rio Grande, the New Mexico United team has done the essential by moving forward against Tulsa (2-1) in the match of the twenty-first day of the United Soccer League Championship, played on Wednesday at ONEOK Field. Carl-Fred Sainté was again left on the bench.

After a first half that ended with a scoreless draw, New Mexico United woke up and scored all 3 goals of the game including an own goal. The first goal of the game came in the 54th minute by Alexis Souahy for New Mexico United before conceding the equalizer on an own goal scored by defender Rashid Tetteh (71′,1-1). Justin Jose Portillo gave the visitors the win (76′, 1-2).

After the win, New Mexico United is 4th with 33 points in the Western Conference. FC Tulsa is 8th in the Eastern Conference with 22 points. In the next game, New Mexico United will host Riverhounds on Saturday, July 16 at 9am.
