FC Basel is the new destination of the young Franco-Haitian striker, Jean Kévin Augustin. The 25-year-old player has signed a 3-year contract with FC Basel of Switzerland, after 2 seasons spent at FC Nantes. The club officially announced this Saturday, June 18 on its social networks.
Jean Kévin Augustin leaves the French Ligue 1 more precisely FC Nantes to take the direction of the Super League in Switzerland. The latter has just signed for a period of 3 years until 2025, with FC Basel, runner-up in the 2021-2022 season, freely coming from the Canaries, club with which he won the French Cup 2022.
Having played for PSG (his training club), RB Leipzig, AS Monaco, Leeds United and FC Nantes, Jean Kévin Augustin will discover his sixth club and his fourth championship in his career. After two failed seasons in the yellow house, the native of Paris has played 11 games in all competitions without scoring a goal or providing any assist.
“I have a very good feeling, also thanks to the discussions with Alex Frei. He was a great striker and I look forward to working with him and learning from him,” he said.
