After four seasons in Armenia at FC Lori and FC Urartu, 2 years each, the striker Jonel Désiré offers a new challenge by joining Olympiakos Nicosia, Cypriot first division for one season with an option for two more years, announced this Wednesday, July 6, the club on its official website.
Jonel Désiré, a 25-year-old Haitian international striker, has just broken his contract with FC Urartu to join a higher league. The grenadier signed a lease of one season and 2 additional years in option in favor of the triple Cypriot champion of Olympiakos, club based in Nicosia. The native of Mirebalais will discover his second European championship and his fourth club at the international level.
In Armenia, the Haitian striker scored 29 goals in 48 games with FC Lori and 15 goals in over 40 games with FC Urartu. With 4 goals in 27 games this season, Jonel Désiré will try to be more efficient to quickly make a place in the squad of his new club.
As a reminder, last season Olympiakos Nicosia finished the championship in 3rd position in the relegation group with 40 points. In the 2022-2023 championship, Olympiakos Nicosia will open against Anorthosis Famagusta at home.
