FC Edmonton was relentless against its opponent of the evening and delivered a good performance on Friday to defeat York United (3-0) at home on Friday at Clarke Stadium.
Bicou Bissainthe led the way for his teammates by opening the scoring in the 24th minute of play after a pass from Wesley Thomas Lanca Timoteo. This is the second goal of the Haitian defender in the first level of Canadian soccer. 1-0 is the score at halftime.
After the break, FC Edmonton has increased the score thanks to two goals scored in two minutes through Mamadi Camara (57′, 2-0) and Gabriel Bitar (59′, 3-0). The score could have been much heavier considering the number of missed opportunities and the penalty missed by Wesley Thomas Lanca Timoteo (30′). He was the decisive assistant twice in this game on the first and last goal.
Despite this victory, FC Edmonton remains in last place (8th) with 10 points, one less than its opponent of the evening. Their next game will be against FC Pacific on Saturday, July 9 at 4pm.
