The national team lost (1-2) against Guatemala this Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Drive Pink Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
This match is part of the preparations of the National Eleven to the CONCACAF League of Nations.
The Grenadiers quickly took the lead in this game. Carnejy Antoine scored a wonderful team effort in the 23rd minute. The striker from Casa Pia Athletic Club (Portuguese second division), who was served by Alex Christian Jr. on a plate, put the ball in the net. Carnejy Antoine, (30 years old, 1.91m) scored his fifth goal in nine (9) appearances. Jean-Jacques Pierre’s protégés had several opportunities to score but lacked realism. Having failed to make the break, they paid dearly for their hesitation in defense. Josué Duverger, not very reassuring in goal, did not help. The Guatemalans took advantage to score two goals in quick succession, respectively by Mejia and Gordillo shortly before the break (44th, 45th+2).
The national Bicolor was knocked down in (3) minutes when it seemed to have control of the situation.
Guatemala has become a real bête noire for Haiti, winning in (5) of the last (6) encounters.
The national team will start playing in the CONCACAF Nations League in June.
Other preparatory games are on the horizon between now and then for the team of Jean-Jacques Pierre.
