With a team composed of people living in foreign lands, the Haitian selection of Taekwondo distinguished itself at the Panamerican Championship Cadet from 12 to 14 years and Junior from 15 to 17 years, held in Costa Rica from June 29 to 30. In two categories, the Haitian athletes did not come back empty-handed. They won three gold medals.

In the Cadet category of 47 kg, Jessica Lynn beat her Ecuadorian competitor to win the gold medal after a good performance. In the Junior category, Ava Lee (68 kg) and Sean J. Laloan (73 kg) each won a gold medal against an American and a Mexican respectively. A great first in the history of Haitian Taekwondo, said the number one of the federation, Master Fresnel Ostin.

Ava Lee, thanks to her excellent performance in San Jose (Costa Rica), won the prize for the best female athlete of the competition.
