This Sunday, on the occasion of the second day of the Romanian first division soccer championship (Liga 1), FC Arges Pitesti suffered a heavy defeat, far from its land in Sfântu Gheorghe, against Sepsi (0-4). The victory of Sepsi was built in the second half. Bryan Alcéus entered the game shortly before the last quarter of the hour.

After a 2-0 victory in the first day against Football Club Uta Arad, FC Arges Pitesti took this Sunday a real beating by losing heavily on the pitch of Arena Sepsi OSK (0-4) against Sepsi in the second day of the Romanian Liga 1, a match in which the Purple and White club had missed two great opportunities in the first half by Alexandru Mihai Isfan and Dorian Bertrand. Neither of the two formations will manage to take the advantage in this first period (0-0).

In the second half, the locals put more pressure on the gas pedal by taking the game to their account, which ends up paying off early with the opening goal on penalty kick by Cosmin Matei (49, 1-0) followed by those of Bogdan Alexandru Mitrea (60′, 2-0) and Marius Stefanescu (63′, 3-0). Catalin Gheorghita Golofca closed the score only ten minutes after his arrival on the field (80′, 4-0). The score will remain at 4-0 at the end of a game clearly dominated by the home team. The match was played without the VAR system.

Entered in place of the Paraguayan Derlis David Meza Colli in the 71st minute, the Haitian international defensive midfielder Bryan Alcéus played his first minutes in the league with his new club.

After this failure, the Pitesti-based club remains with 3 points and is positioned in 7th place in the standings. Its next appointment in the championship is set for Friday, July 29, 2022, at 11:30 am, for the reception of the University Cluj.
