On Tuesday, July 26, 2022, an unprecedented event occurred in the English soccer world. A businesswoman and politician, Alison Brittain, was unanimously elected president of the Premier League, after the vote of the 20 first division clubs. She will replace Peter Mc Cormick, who was in charge since January 2022, after the resignation of Gary Hoffmann in November 2021, following the purchase of the club New Castle United by the Saudi Investment Fund.

Alison Jane Brittain (57), born in February 1965 in the United Kingdom, is a businesswoman who has worked in the banking sector since 2007 (Lloyds Banking Group, Santander UK and Barclays in 2011). And in the entrepreneurial sector with the hotel group Whitbread as director, since 2015. She is also a politician as she was an advisor to the last three Prime Ministers in England (David Cameron, Theresa May and Boris Johnson).

Ms. Brittain promises to work with all stakeholders in the soccer sector and to bring all her expertise for the progress and advancement of English soccer.
