The Epopee stadium was witness this Sunday to the D2/R1 play-off between Grand Calais Pascal and Stade Brestois 29. The last one made respect the hierarchy by sweeping its opponent on the score of 4-0 to validate its maintenance in French second division. Tabita Dougenie Joseph and Betina Petit-Frère were both starters.

Winners with difficulty (2-1) in the first leg of the D2/R1 play-off, the teammates of Tabita Dougenie Joseph and Betina Petit-Frère had at heart to make a good show this Sunday to avoid a demotion to the Regional 1 (R1). The women’s section of Stade Brestois 29 did the match they were dreaming of, also winning the return match (4-0).

Yacine Guesmia’s girls opened the score four minutes after the first quarter of the game through Anne Marie Banuta (19′,1-0) before making the break in the 32nd minute of play through Morgane Belkhiter (2-0).

In the second half and less than 15 minutes before the end of the game, Baptysia Doisy sealed the fate of the game and add a little more salt to the bill by scoring a double (77′, 79′). Final score 4-0.

With this victory, the Brestoises keep their place in the second French division.
