This Tuesday, in the opening match of the thirteenth day of the Malaysian Super League of soccer, the team of Melaka United had no difficulty in defeating Penang FC. It won (4-1) in its home stadium Hang Jebat. For his birthday, the Haitian player Sony Nordé played the 90 minutes and offered two assists.
3 days after being eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Malaysian Football Federation Cup (FA Cup), the men of Melaka United have resumed the taste of victory by pulverizing the formation of Penang FC (4-1), match counting for the thirteenth day of the Malaysian championship of first division of soccer, at the end of a game clearly within their reach.
In a match totally dominated by Melaka United, the Ghanaian Emmanuel Oti Essigba immediately opened the score (4′-1-0). The latter will be imitated a few minutes later by his Brazilian teammate in the person of Adriano Aparecido Narcizo (36, 2-0). Serious and united, FC Melaka United returned to the locker room with a two-goal advantage.
In the second half, Ifedayo Olusegun and Mikel Justin Cagurangan Baas scored two more goals in quick succession at the 58th and 60th minute respectively to bring the score to 4-0. But, at the end of the game, the Brazilian Lucas Espíndola Da Silva saved the honor for the visiting team four minutes before the end of the game (86′,4-1).
The captain and Haitian magician Sony Nordé, who scored the second and fourth goals for his team, celebrated his 33rd birthday. The latter was the key element of the victory of the team nicknamed Hang Tuah having finished man of the match.
After this victory, Sony Nordé and his team occupy provisionally the 6th place with 16 points, while waiting for the end of the 13th day which must be completed this Wednesday, July 27, 2022. On Sunday 31 July, at 7:30am, Melaka United will visit Kota Kinabalu to face Sabah FA.
