Atalanta United II and Birmingham Legion played out a 3-3 draw at Fifth Third Bank Stadium on Wednesday in the nineteenth round of the United Soccer League Championship, Eastern Conference. Zachary Heriveaux was in the midfield for Birmingham Legion and played the whole game with a nice goal to open his account.

In a game full of goals, Birmingham Legion players were held to a frustrating 3-3 draw on the road against Atalanta United II after a successful first half. The game started well for the visitors, who opened the score in the 8th minute thanks to Enzo Agustin Martinez (0-1) and held this advantage until the break.

After the break, Birmingham Legion made the break early through Brazilian Bruno Lapa, scoring in two steps from a penalty corner (49′,0-2). The home side rallied when 17-year-old Luke Brennan cut the deficit (65′,1-2), followed by Tristan Trager’s equalizer (67′,2-2). Zachary Heriveaux, with a nice right footed shot before the last quarter of the hour, gave Birmingham Legion the lead (74′, 3-2) but Atalanta United II equalized in stoppage time through 21 year old Brazilian Nicolas Firmino (93′,3-3).

Tom Soehn’s team can regret having lost the 3 points of the victory in the stoppage time. With this draw, Birmingham Legion is 6th with 26 points in the Eastern Conference, while Atlanta United II is in 11th place with 15 points.

On the next day, Birmingham Legion will travel to the second last team of the Eastern Conference, Charleston Battery, on Saturday, July 9th at 8 pm.
