Hartford Athletic bounced back from last Saturday’s 2-0 loss to Louisville City to beat Colorado Springs Switchback 2-0 in their eighteenth United Soccer League Championship match on Tuesday, June 28 at Trinity Health Stadium. A victory obtained in the last 15 minutes of the game.


Ashkanov Apollon’s teammates were held scoreless at Trinity Health Stadium for a long time, but finally beat their opponents, Colorado Springs Switchback, to claim the three points in the last 15 minutes of the match. The men in blue scored twice thanks to Cuban player Ariel Martinez (74′,1-0) and Jamaican Andre Lewis, former Colorado Springs Switchback (79′, 2-0).

Haitian international defender Ashkanov Apollon was a substitute at the start of the game and played the last 25 minutes of the game (66′). He was even the key to the goal scored by André Lewis (79′).

This victory gives a huge boost to the morale of the men of Hartford Athletic, who breathe a little air in the standings, 10th with 15 points in the Eastern Conference. Colorado Springs Switchback, despite its defeat, remains 2nd in the Western Conference with 33 points.
