The former Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action, Evans Lescouflair, was arrested on Saturday, July 2, 2022, in Panama by Interpol, on the basis of a warrant issued against him by the prosecutor’s office of Port-au-Prince following several complaints of rape and sexual abuse filed against him.
On the run for some time, the former head of the MJSAC, Evans Lescouflair has just been arrested in Panama by Interpol agents. He is accused of having raped minors on several occasions.
Evans Lescouflair was invited last May to the Port-au-Prince Prosecutor’s Office to be heard in a case of rape and sexual assault on young people under the age of 18. The latter denied the accusations and preferred to flee instead of answering the summons of the government commissioner, forcing the Haitian judicial authorities to ask for help from international authorities.
According to several sources, Evans Lescouflair will be transferred to Haiti.
Claude Alix Bertrand and Willio Dor are among those who filed a complaint against the former sports instructor at the Saint Louis de Gonzague institution.
