After being humiliated 6-2 by England, the Iranian soccer team redeemed itself in its second match.  They beat Garett Bale’ Wales two goals to nil on Friday.

Carlos Queiroz’s men delivered an extraordinary performance by scoring two valuable goals in the extra time.

The first goal was scored by Rouzbeh Cheshmi in the 98th minute with a long range shot.  The Iranians were to add to the score three minutes later with a goal by Ramin Rezaeian.

Gales’ country finished the game with 10 players after goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey was sent off in the 85th minute for a stupid foul.

Thanks to this victory, the Iranians took a serious option for their qualification for the round of 16 while waiting for the results of the match between England and the United States this afternoon at 1 pm standard eastern time.
