The vice-champions of the world previous world Cup, Croatia,  missed its entry in the World Cup 2022. For their first match in the great festival of world soccer, the teammates of Luka Modric were held in check by those of Achkraf Hakimi with a score of 0-0.

The men trained by the coach Zlatko Dalic were unable to find the fault in a very strong and organized Moroccan defense.

Morocco could have stolen this match on two actions if not for the vigilance of the Croatian keeper Dominik Livakovic.

Reacting after this rather bad result Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic believes that Morocco was faster than his team stressing that their strength is the counter-attack ، fortunately the game ended in a draw he says.
Despite the half-hearted performance of his team, Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric was voted man of the match.
